CARP/CABINET MAKER
Education: High school graduate or (GED) equivalent. Associate degree general maintenance (building repair), carpentry & cabinetmaking or similar completed formal certificate education program as approved by MVH PS&E. Must have maintenance or construction working knowledge of Plumbing Systems, HVAC system, Electrical, hydraulic systems. Must be familiar with computers and software programs. General knowledge of codes (NEC, OSHA, boilers, Construction). Training in general repair, tool use and equipment repair.
Experience: Four years experience in plant maintenance or construction related to carpentry and cabinetmaking. This includes some experience General construction/ maintenance experience on plumbing systems, HVAC carpentry and or mechanical systems. Working knowledge of building/fire Codes, National electric code & Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. Work experience with small hand tools, instruments, power saw equipment and associated carpentry tools.
Skills: Hand tools and power tools skills. Excellent guest relations and communication skills (written and verbal). Must be familiar with computers. Must be able to read, problem solve use instruction manuals & drawings. Familiar with and trained or able to use all standard maintenance tools, test instruments and specialized tools, meters. Ability to work on multiple tasks and to perform mathematical skills, read, writes reports and communicates effectively.
Work Schedules: M-F some nights, weekends/holidays or after hours to maintain and repair MVH. Work with contractors or staff on scheduled shut-downs, emergency repairs and systems changes as scheduled to maintain hospital operation.
