Education: A bachelor’s Degree appropriate to fundraising required, master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum four years of development experience, with five–eight years of development experience preferred.
Skills/Other: Identifiable successful philanthropic outcomes from concurrently managing multiple programs. Demonstrated significant results in gift prospecting, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships with donors, prospective donors, fellow team members, board members and executive leadership.
Previous experience in highly political environment with demonstrated negotiating skills. Proven team player. Candidates must have ability to develop people (paid staff and volunteers), ability to establish working relationships with a number of complex departments; flexibility in work execution responding to needs of professional staff and volunteer leaders. Strong writing and verbal communication skills; possess great personal initiative. Expertise in developing publications, social media and marketing materials, preferably in non-profit organizations and/or philanthropy/development. Computer/database literacy; Raiser’s Edge experience, a plus.
