The director of medical imaging, telecommunications, IT, First Impressions and Wound Care Center oversees the hospital imaging centers for Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC) and Miami Valley Hospital North (MVHN) along with UVMC telecommunication services, First Impressions, Wound Care Center and IT at UVMC.

General Summary/Responsibilities:

Responsible for administrative duties, daily operations, strategic growth planning and implementation for medical imaging, Telecommunications, First Impressions, Wound Care Center at UVMC and Medical Imaging at Miami Valley Hospital North. Manages the operating budget and capital planning for all areas of responsibility. Responsible for overseeing a full range of Imaging services including diagnostic radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI, mammography, PET, IR and Nuclear Medicine. Works with a multidisciplinary team and provides support to the medical staff, nursing staff, and other individuals who provide care to patients. Provides onsite support and acts as a liaison for IT services at UVMC. Ensures compliance with all hospital and regulatory standards and radiation safety measures.

Education

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree

Additional requirements:

  • Type of degree: Management or health related field
  • Area of study or major: ARRT or related specialty required
  • Preferred educational qualifications: Masters Degree in management or related field preferred 
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • ARRT or related specialty required

Experience

  • Minimum Level of Experience Required: 3 - 5 years of job related experience
  • Prior job title or occupational experience: Progressive experience in medical imaging operations required. Demonstrated experience in all facets of medical imaging management. Knowledge of imaging equipment and applications required.
  • Prior specific functional responsibilities: Demonstrated knowledge of various information systems within a hospital environment and how the information is utilized by the Medical Imaging, Telecommunication, IT, First Impressions and Wound Care Departments to monitor service and performance. PC skills and understanding of commonly used software packages. Demonstrated track record in developing a good rapport with physicians and other customers. Demonstrated strong analytical skills with ability to interact with other hospital specialties.
