Position Summary
General Summary/Responsibilities:
Independently performs diagnostic cardiac echocardiology procedures utilizing proper techniques and protocols. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with registry in the operation of equipment. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Cardiopulmonary Department. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform other cardiology procedures in other modalities based on departmental needs. Will have on call responsibilities.

Licensure/Certification/Registration
Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialed by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire

Preferred experience: Three years of clinical experience in all facets of echocardiography and demonstrate appropriate competencies.

Knowledge/Skills
Proficient in performing diagnostic procedures and obtaining diagnostic images for physician interpretation
Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Proficient in Cardiology Information Systems
Working Conditions:
Must be able to push, pull, and assist in lifting up to 300 pounds (both patients and equipment)
May be exposed to aggressive, violent behaviors from patients, family members, and/or visitors
May be exposed to blood and body fluids, including those with tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis, or body infestations
Must be able to work under stressful conditions which may occur in emergency situations or with a heavy workload
