Education

Minimum Level of Education Required:  Associate degree

Additional requirements:

Area of study or major: Health Information Management, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business and/or related field required

Preferred educational qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Registered Health Information Technician ( RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified  Healthcare Technology Specialist (CHTS) -    

EPIC certification in HIM Identity Module (EMPI) – required

EPIC Non-certified candidates must acquire EPIC certification within 9 months of employment

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required:  3 - 5  years of job related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: 2 years hands on EPIC/other major healthcare system 

Prior specific functional responsibilities: Building or programing experience is required or EPIC certification

 

Knowledge/Skills

  • Must be flexible with work schedule and demand
  • Must be able to work independently and be on call when requested
  • Ability to review work for detailed accuracy and completeness required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows applications required.
  • Must be able to learn new software applications and adapt to system changes
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits required.
