Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree
Additional requirements:
Type of degree: EMS or healthcare related field
Preferred educational qualifications: Baccalaureate Degree preferred
Position specific testing requirement: Eligible to obtain a commercial driver’s license and appropriate insurance for a commercial vehicle preferred. Must complete BLS, ACLS, and ITLS instructor within 1 year of employment; NIMS 100, 700, and 800 within 6 months of hire
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Certified Paramedic in the State of Ohio
- State of Ohio EMS Instructor within 1 year.
- BLS
- ACLS
- ITLS within 180 days of hire
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 5 - 7 years of job related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: EMT-P or EMS Coordinator; EMS field experience within previous 3 years of hire.
Prior specific functional responsibilities: Scheduling, Planning, Providing EMS Education, PI/QA
Preferred experience: Previous employment as an EMS Coordinator preferred. Experience with marketing preferred. RN/EMT-P preferred. Previous experience providing emergency medical care in an out of hospital setting. Familiarity with Greater Miami Valley EMS Protocols
Knowledge/Skills
- Considerable knowledge of and experience in emergency medical services/critical care theory, skills, and practices
- Demonstrate high degree of professionalism and service excellence
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as ability to formally present to both large and small groups

- Knowledge of the scope of practice in all levels of EMS
