Flight Nurse / CareFlight / Full Time 7p - 7:30a / 72 Hours per Pay
Education: Graduation from accredited school of nursing; BSN required or must obtain within 5 years of hire. Proof of enrollment required within 6 months of hire. ** RNs with min. 2 years of acute care hospital experience may elect to forgo the BSN requirement and sign a Professional Certification MOU which must be obtained with 3 years of hire.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Valid Ohio RN license
The following certifications are required at the time of hire:
a. Current AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS
b. Certified EMT-B OR Professional Nursing Certification
The following certifications are required within the specified time frame following hire:
a. 90 Days- ITLS or PHTLS
b. 1 year – NRP, ATLS (audit)
c. 2 years – CAMTS approved Nursing certification and Certified EMT-P in the State of Ohio
Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent, active RN experience in an Emergency Department or Critical Care setting. Previous Pre-hospital or critical care transport experience preferred. Flight experience is highly preferred.
• Special Consideration: If the candidate has a minimum of one year of previous experience with CareFlight Air & Mobile Services as a Paramedic, they must have an additional 4000 hours critical care experience as an RN in an ICU or an emergency department to be eligible to reapply to the program as an RN. This is in lieu of the above required 3 years’ experience.
