LABOR RELATIONS PARTNER
THIS POSITION IS A TEMPORARY POSTION (WITH POSSIBILITY OF TEMP TO PERMANENT PLACEMENT).
The Labor Relations Partner (LRP) will report to the Director of Labor Relations and will be mainly responsible for labor relations and union avoidance. In this role, the LRP will be responsible for providing consultation and guidance to our key stakeholders in developing strategies to maintain a union-free work environment. The LRP’s primary focus will be on designing and delivering training programs to educate managers on labor unions, the National Labor Relations Act, and best practices for positive engagement with employees.
General Summary/Responsibilities:
The Labor Relations Partner will be responsible for:
- Facilitation of assessments of the current labor relations environment within the organization to identify potential union vulnerabilities.
- Implement customized labor relations education and training programs tailored to the organization’s unique needs.
- Train managers on effective communication techniques, leadership skills, and legal compliance requirements related to labor relations.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to the organization’s leadership team on strategies to prevent union organizing efforts and maximize direct employee engagement.
- Stay up to date on relevant labor laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure the effectiveness and compliance of labor relations initiatives.
- Assist with delivery of National Labor Relations Act training to staff and leaders at all the organizations’ hospital campuses in Dayton, Centerville, Middletown, Englewood, and Troy Ohio and its affiliates.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver comprehensive labor relations strategies.
Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree
Additional requirements:
- Type of degree: Bachelors
- Area of study or major: Human Resources, Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, or related field
Experience
- Minimum Level of Experience Required: 3 - 5 years of job related experience
- Prior job title or occupational experience: Previous experience in Labor Relations.
- Prior specific functional responsibilities: Previous experience with union avoidance strategies.
- Preferred experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
