General Summary/Responsibilities
The Learning and Design Specialist serves as a system expert and integrator for system-wide onboarding, leadership development, and organizational learning across Premier Health’s non-clinical workforce. This role designs, coordinates, and continuously improves scalable, technology-enabled learning experiences that accelerate readiness, strengthen leadership capability, and ensure consistent, high-quality development pathways for caregivers, leaders, and physicians. The Specialist collaborates on the design and delivery of blended, digital, and experiential learning solutions - including eLearning, simulations, virtual learning, facilitated programs, and performance-based learning experiences - to support system learning capability.
Working in close partnership with Instructional Designers, program owners, and operational leaders, this role follows design standards, and integration across onboarding, leadership, and professional development programs. While individual programs may be owned by designated leaders or teams, this role ensures alignment, coherence, and scalability across the full learning ecosystem.
Reporting to the Director of Learning & Talent Development, the Specialist serves as a strategic consultant and hands-on designer, translating organizational priorities into practical, data-informed, technology-enabled learning solutions that drive performance, engagement, and long-term success.
Qualifications
Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's Degree Or equivalent experience
Additional requirements:
Type of degree: Bachelor Degree or 4-10 years of experience
Area of study or major: Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Dev.
Preferred educational qualifications: Master's Degree preferred (Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, OD, Leadership, or related)
Position specific testing requirement: Portfolio including eLearning
Licensure/Certification/Registration
CPTD, ATD, CPLP, or learning technology certifications preferred
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 4-10 years of job-related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: N/A
Prior specific functional responsibilities: System-level learning design, onboarding, program leadership
Preferred experience: Learning analytics and performance measurement
Other experience requirements: Healthcare or complex operational environments
Knowledge/Skills
Advanced instructional design and curriculum development expertise
Adult learning theory and learning science application
Ability to manage multiple projects and navigate competing priorities
Strengthen leadership development capability
Proficiency with LMS platforms, SharePoint, and digital learning tools
eLearning and authoring tools (Articulate, Rise, Vyond, Camtasia etc.)
Learning analytics, dashboarding, and reporting
Needs Assessment, program evaluation and continuous improvement methods
Facilitation and executive presence
Consulting and stakeholder engagement skills
Project and portfolio management
