Summary
The Medical Assistant Float travels to offices throughout the network, as the need arises. The MA Float position requires the ability to adapt and adjust to offices within the Physician Companies, which include Primary Care, and varied specialty practices.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for general clinical and procedural patient care, under supervision of the Practice Manager and/or center Physicians/Providers.
Nature and Scope
Independently performed procedures may include, but is not limited to, rooming patients, venipuncture, administration of injections, collecting vitals, pulmonary function tests, ear irrigations, ultrasound therapy, muscle stimulation, hot/cold packs, EKGs, breathing treatments, lab testing, holtor monitoring, dressing changes, wound cleaning, hearing and vision tests.
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation and the
ability to effectively manage change will be an essential component in the
success of the Medical Assistant Float position.
- Qualified applicants must be
either a Certified Medical Assistant, and/or will have graduated from a
recognized Medical Assistant program.
- Strong patient relations skills
are essential.
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA
law is required and patient confidentiality must be treated with utmost
importance.
- Familiarity with the EPIC
electronic medical records system is strongly preferred.
- CPR certification must be
current, or obtained within the first 3 months of employment.
