Medical Imaging Tech Assistant
General Summary/Responsibilities:
Provides transport services to patients of all ages to and from all referral points within the hospital. Assist staff technologists in the performance of their technical and non-technical functions including room turnover, stocking, and inventory management. May be responsible for image reproduction using CDs/Film for patients, physicians and radiologists. Responsible for creating and maintaining a positive impression of Premier Health by proactively approaching, greeting, and acknowledging all customers in a friendly, professional manner and providing quick and responsive customer service. Maintains equipment in good working condition. May perform clerical duties or assist in other areas based on departmental needs

§ Reports to work as required.
Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds

3. May be exposed to blood and body fluids, including those with tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis, or body infestations
4. Must be able to work under stressful conditions which may occur in emergency situations or with a heavy workload

Escorts/transports
patients of all ages by cart, bed, or wheelchair to and from all referral
points within the hospital. Receives
and routes patients and associated paperwork throughout service areas. 2.
Provides physical
assistance to staff in transfer (lifting)
of patients as needed. 3.
Operates
computerized system to update patient information, identify transportation
needs, and facilitate automated patient tracking. 4.
Assists patients
with personal needs (i.e. ambulation,
restroom, bedpan, etc.). Awareness
of patient condition during transportation and communicates special needs to
nursing or technical staff. 5.
Utilizes effective
communication skills by demonstrating respect, concern, and courtesy in all
internal and external relationships. Provides basic patient care with dignity
and respect for each patient. 6.
Participates in
routine equipment care and cleaning.
Reports faulty, damaged, or lost equipment appropriately. Returns equipment to proper storage area. Rounds for equipment during downtimes. 7.
Follows and
implements safety policies and procedures including Radiation Safety. 8.
Maintains current
inventory of supplies and assist supervisor in ordering supplies and
maintaining supply par levels 9.
Assists
technologists with the turnaround of the procedures rooms including linen
management and cleaning of the equipment.
May assist technologists in preparing patients for tests by getting
patient on and off exam tables. 1.

§ Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
§ Applicable computer applications
Education Required: High School Completion/ GED
Licensure/Certification/Registration: CPR Certification within 30 days of hire
Experience: Prefer one year experience in medical/patient care environment
