MGR- CLINICAL PHARMACY-MVH
Position Summary:
The Clinical Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the direction and leadership of clinical and personnel activities for acute care pharmacy services within the Miami Valley Hospital Main Campus. Primary responsibilities include daily clinical operations, management of staff and resources, project management, quality improvement, budgeting, maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, accreditation requirements and regulations, medication safety, and teaching.
Additionally, the Clinical Pharmacy Manager will identify processes and tools to guide clinicians in the use of the most appropriate and cost-effective pharmaceutical therapies, ensuring quality, safety, and positive patient outcomes and satisfaction. Assists in the administration, evaluation, and assessment of the pharmacy training and staff development programs. Serves as an educational and information resource to physicians, medical residents, nursing, pharmacy, and other healthcare staff.

- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Other experience requirements:
· Completion of a post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or fellowship required -or-
· Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY-1) plus minimum of 2 years of experience as a clinical specialist or equivalent role which includes providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring -or-
· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a clinical specialist or equivalent role which includes providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring
Knowledge/Skills:
· Familiar with all duties and procedures performed by professional and technical staff
· Fluent in the use of drug information resources
· Ability to evaluate primary medical literature and develop evidence-based recommendations for treatment regimens
· Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers
· Ability to work in a complex team environment and to collaborate with both external and internal professionals and other customers.
· Appreciation of age specific needs of pediatric to geriatric populations with regards to drug therapy and services
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Computer skills – word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint®, drug databases.
· Familiarity with various software, equipment, and technology necessary to provide pharmacy services.
· Able to demonstrate skills in prioritization, problem solving, vision setting, team building, decision making, time management, mentorship, change management, scholarship, teaching, and strategic planning.
· Knowledge of pharmacy services within an ever-changing health care environment.
· Knowledge of laws and regulation regarding pharmacy.
