Qualifications

Education

 

Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree

                                            

Additional requirements:

§  Type of degree: Associates or Bachelors

§  Area of study or major: Nursing

§  Preferred educational qualifications: N/A

§  Position specific testing requirement: N/A

 

Licensure/Certification/Registration

 

§  Current Ohio RN preferred or LPN license.  

 

Experience

 

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3  years of job-related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: N/A.

Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A

Preferred experience: One year previous scheduling experience preferred  

Other experience requirements: previous Supervisory experience preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills

§  Home care experience preferred.

§  Netsmart scheduling package knowledge preferred

§  Basic computer knowledge.  Must have demonstrated working knowledge with Windows 98, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

§  Ability to work independently, multi-task and work independently

§  Strong organizational skills as well as excellent verbal communication skills.

§  Good interpersonal skills

§  Telephone and professional courtesy

§  Strong triage experience preferred

§  IV experience preferred

Organizational Standards

§  Processes all referrals for visits which include assignment and coordination of schedules of the staff to match needs of the patients per agency policy and procedures.

§  Will work flexible schedule to maintain flow of referrals.

§  Assists Management with annual performance evaluations by giving input regarding time issues and communication issues as well as frequent and multiple schedule changes and productivity.

§  Reviews orders for accuracy and communicates issues to management

§  Follows designated procedures involved in maintaining day to day operations of chosen scheduling system.

§  Participates in agency QA/Improvement activities and teams/work groups.

 

Essential Duties & Functions

 

Essential Duties & Functions:

The Nurse Scheduler interacts with staff to update patient needs continuously.  The incumbent interacts with all levels of professional and HCA resource staff with focus on customer service.  Responsible for communicating staff productivity issues to appropriate personnel as well as other areas of concern.  Responsible for all staffing duties including, assignment, triage, customer service calls, prioritizing and communicating needs to management in timely manner.
