Occupational Therapist Assistant (PRN)
- PRN - varied schedule (7:30am-6pm)
Under the general supervision of the department Supervisor in Rehabilitation Services and according to established policies and procedures, the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will:
- Report/discuss patient’s status during consultation with Occupational Therapist; take initiative in communicating patient changes and scheduling consultations in a timely manner
- Confer with Occupational Therapist prior to initiating change in an established treatment program
- Administer patient treatment based upon established evaluation or reassessment
- Complete required documentation in a timely fashion; maintain productivity at department standard
- Delegate appropriate tasks to unlicensed personnel; participate in case management of patient’s rehabilitation services
- Perform non-clinical tasks and demonstrate work habits to support effective daily operation
- Participate in one to two departmental, hospital, or community programs/meetings; teach, orient, train, supervise, and mentor co-workers, new employees, volunteers, observers, and at least one student annually.
- Associate Degree from an accredited two-year college program for Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants required.
- Currently licensed as a COTA in the state of Ohio required.
- Requires effective communication and the analytical skills necessary to implement planned treatment programs, identifying changes in patient’s condition, and adjusting activities accordingly.
- Demonstrates acceptable work performance by exhibiting a positive and constructive attitude, initiative, dependability, cooperation, and skill in verbal and written expression.
- Abides by the Code of Ethical Conduct as defined by the Code of Ethics by the AOTA.
- CPR certification within six months of employment.
