POSITION SUMMARY: The Support Staff functions as a member of an administrative or treatment team to assure prompt, accurate, customer centered services to patients, staff, and other customers in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations. Support Staff perform a variety of duties, including; registration, answering incoming calls, scheduling, billing, scanning, processing releases, and auditing.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· High school graduate or equivalent.
· Relevant course work or five years relevant experience.
· Demonstrated ability in computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
· Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:
· There is generally a pleasant physical environment; however, unpleasant conditions may include frequent interruptions, difficulty controlling office temperatures, heavy workload demands and constantly changing regulations and standards.
· While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to talk and/or hear, to sit, stand, and walk; use the hands to finger, handle, and/or feel and be able to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, and peripheral vision and the ability to focus visually.
· Some flexibility in scheduling is expected to meet changing SBHI business needs. This may require employees to work different days/hours or stay beyond their normal shift.
· Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively within a team as demonstrated by effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
· Demonstrated ability in basic computer literacy skills.
· Influenza vaccination is required on an annual basis.
· Physical harm may result from aggressive or physically ill clients. Aggressive client training and adherence to universal precautions helps to minimize the risk of physical harm.
· As applicable to job duties, valid Ohio driver’s license and/or dependable private vehicle is required.
· As applicable to job duties, Crisis De-escalation training is required on an annual basis.
· As applicable to job duties, maintain current certification in First Aid and CPR.

Job duties:
· Demonstrate adherence to the PHP/SBHI Patient Experience philosophy, guidelines and tools.
· Demonstrate strong ethics, honesty, and adherence to PHP/SBHI Code of Conduct and PHP/SBHI Compliance Program.
· Register patients according to SBHI protocol.
· Correctly identify method of payment reimbursable to SBHI. Verify client insurance as well as portion client is responsible for and convey information to client. Verify client payment amounts. Collect patient co-pays at time of service.
· Assure that HIPAA confidentiality regulations are followed. Ensure that client rights are delivered to clients.
· Ensure that patient demographics and payer source(s) are entered into CareLogic.
· Respond to “Missing UCI Report” and ensure that corrections are completed within 48 hours.
· Communicate trends and problems in reimbursement, registration, payment, or scheduling to assigned supervisor.
· Handle mail and route to correct individual, as applicable.
· Contact RICOH for office machine repair needs.
· Schedule and re-schedule patients in an accurate manner as applicable per program procedures.
· Ensure scanning of patient documents into the Document Library of CareLogic in a timely manner.
· Order office and paper supplies as needed for assigned program and per supervisor requests.
· Participate in scheduled support staff meetings. Consistently communicate with other support staff.
· Process monthly verification of patient Medicaid via MITS in conjunction with front desk staff (back-up only as needed).
· Greet and interact with patients and SBHI staff in a friendly and professional manner. Communicate and perform with the consumer in mind by establishing and maintaining effective relationships to gain trust and respect.
· Utilizing the AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) tool.
· Distribute and collect patient satisfaction surveys per SBHI program procedures.
· Enter patient information into GOSH system and retrieve data.
· Enter patient information into MITS using UCI number obtained from ADAMHS (which is entered into CareLogic system).
· Prepare intake packets for off-site programs and process openings in CareLogic and scan clinical information into CareLogic as needed.
