Qualifications

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  

Must satisfy relevant state requirements for Certified Peer Recovery Supporter including being registered through OMHAS as a Certified Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter.

Must have an active driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3  years of job-related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: N/A

Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A

Preferred experience: N/A

Other experience requirements: Must be a person with a lived experience of substance use disorder or co-occurring mental health & substance use disorder.  Must be able to attest to a minimum of 2 years of sobriety

Essential Duties & Functions:

Provide Peer Support services to coordinate clinical care in the form of face-to-face, telephone calls, telehealth visits and case conference meetings.

Assist individuals with identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses regarding recovery and promote self-advocacy by assisting individuals in expressing their voice, needs, goals and objectives.

Assist individuals with identifying barriers to full participation in community resources and using creative problem-solving to develop strategies to overcome those barriers.

Actively identify and support linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources, mutual self- help groups, professional services, etc.) that support the individual’s goals and interests. Collaborate with internal team members from other disciplines when in doubt of appropriate linkage to services.

Provide vision-driven hope and encouragement for opportunities at varying levels of involvement in community based activities (e.g., work, school, relationships, physical activity, self-directed hobbies, etc.).

Provide recovery education to individuals for every phase of the recovery journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance

In conjunction with assigned therapist, assist individuals in developing their own plan for advancing their recovery.

Perform urine drug screens as requested.

Complete all documentation in the required time frames.

Coordinate caseload with guidance of assigned care coordinator and transport clients as appropriate.
