Licensure/Certification/Registration

 

Current Ohio RN license.

 

Experience

 

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3  years of job-related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: Two to three years’ full time equivalent in home care, acute care setting, or LTAC environment.

Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A

Preferred experience: Minimum of three years nursing experience (critical care preferred).

Other experience requirements: N/A

Organizational Standards

§  Responsible for physician practice after hour’s patient calls, including all documentation completion during on call week coverage.

§  Documents all phone calls in EPIC, Access Data Base, Physician After Hour’s tracking log.

§  Responsible for continuing physician after hour’s call competency by working one shift per month (for prn as needed for coverage.)

§  Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers to ensure quality customer service.

§  Attends all mandatory meetings, training sessions and educational requirement needs for triage competency.

Essential Duties & Functions:

The Physician After Hours Nurse addresses caller’s level of need with appropriate level of response.  Ensures after hour’s customer satisfaction. (physician providers, patient and/or family members.)  Must be self -directed and able to effectively prioritize. Must have ability to independently make decisions necessary to ensure patient wellbeing. Facilitates communication between all appropriate physician providers and patient and/or family members.
