Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: 2 years plumbing system installation and maintenance
Preferred experience: Hospital plumbing / maintenance experience
Minimum level of experience Required: High school graduate or GED.
· Able to read building blueprints and plan installation of piping systems.
· Able to troubleshoot and make repairs to plumbing fixtures and plumbing system components.
· Able to troubleshoot and make appropriate repairs to medical gas/vacuum system components.
· Able to troubleshoot and bypass, isolate and/or cross-connect basic plumbing and gas systems necessary to make repairs or eliminate perilous situations.
· Able to perform repairs utilizing a variety of tools including but not limited to torches, wrenches, pipe cutters, etc. related to the plumbing trade and to perform repair tasks involving welding, brazing and soldering.
· Able to plan work in order to avoid any unexpected outages or disruption of services and requisition all needed materials in advance of the work.
· Must be able to assemble and install valves, pipe fittings and piping composed of metals and non-metals such as glass and plastic.
· Able to operate computer programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and computerized work order system.
· Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license.
· Prior hospital experience preferred.
