Education: High School diploma or GED/equivalent required. Phlebotomy training program completion preferred. Medical terminology, business/secretarial courses helpful.
Certification: Primary Phlebotomist positions are required to sign an agreement that the employee will obtain their Certification from approved associations within 6 months of hire.
Experience: Experience in healthcare or healthcare related training program and work with the public is preferred.
Skills/Other: Basic computer skills, medical terminology, telephone etiquette are needed. Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, physician offices, co-workers and other hospital personnel as well as other external customers either in person or via the telephone is required. Strong mental and visual skills are needed. Organization, critical thinking, problem solving/reasoning ability, good independent judgment and initiative to effectively meet multiple and simultaneous demands needed are essential.
