Full-Time / Hours and Shift Variable 8:00 -4:30 

The Program Manager-Patient Education will provide oversight for all patient education activities across Premier Health including acute care, physician offices, ambulatory care settings, and home care. The Program Manager will develop, implement, manage and evaluate all aspects of the Patient Education in order to meet the strategic initiatives of the Learning Institute and Premier Health.

Essential Duties & Functions:

1. Leads and facilitates the development and implementation of the Patient Education Program and its initiatives to support the strategic growth of the Learning Institute and Premier Health.

2. Develops, plans, facilitates and coordinates system-wide education and training related to patient education.

3. Works in conjunction with IT and Technical Education and Support to provide a high quality technology solution for patient education across Premier Health.

4. Provides direction for the Premier Health Patient Education Committee to ensure a consistent process to standardize patient education

5. Serves as a Liaison between the Premier Health Learning Institute and all Premier Health departments, divisions, and subsidiaries as related to patient education strategy, initiatives, and implementation.

6. Actively promotes and builds high quality patient education initiatives in collaboration with the Premier Health Patient Education Committee including the System Coordinator Patient Education

7. Collaborates with the Legal Department, IT, Marketing, Communications, Risk Management, Patient Experience and all appropriate clinical and ancillary areas along with other key stakeholders on relevant issues and strategies regarding patient education

8. Measures and monitors the effectiveness of the patient education program on an ongoing basis and prepares reports to be shared with the leadership of the Learning Institute.

9. Assists in the development of the annual strategic plan for the Learning Institute

10. Provides leadership to key stakeholders related to Patient Education and manages group discussions and group processes to facilitate a seamless continuum of care for patient education.

Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree

      Type of degree: Nursing

         Preferred educational qualifications: Master’s Degree in Nursing, Education or related field

Licensure/Certification/Registration

§ Valid Ohio Registered Nurse License

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 3 - 5 years of job related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: Professional nurse

Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A

Preferred experience: Nursing leadership role and/or educator

Other experience requirements: N/A

Knowledge/Skills

  • Demonstrated ability of project management, particularly in organization-wide initiatives, preferable
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, create, and implement training.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills. Previous experience in this area is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills and group and process facilitation skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as representatives of various cultures in the external community.
  • Analytical capabilities, surveys, project management, and data analysis. Competence in using Microsoft Office

  • Good judgment skills and the ability to handle and maintain confidential/sensitive information.

  • Self-Starter with excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Skill in organizing, tracking, and prioritizing assignments and tasks.
  • Strong technical skills and experience using advance internet search techniques.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management with an ability to effectively manage key stakeholders relationships
