Licensure/Certification/Registration:
LSW required LISW preferred
CPR Certification
State of Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor, Counselor or Social Work Preferred
Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
Preferred experience: 1-2 years working in the field of chemical dependency preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
Good organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; Requires effective interpersonal communication skills for interactions with and /or teaching patients, physicians, families, ancillary staff and visitors; Self-directed individual who utilizes initiative, problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skills to make appropriate decisions; Has the ability to work under stressful conditions; Able to collect and analyze data to make decisions for clinical improvement; demonstrates proficiency in treating patients with a non-judgmental approach. Maintains an active community network of individuals from a variety of disciplines; Ascertains community needs, resources, and trends in opiate addiction and related health services; Maintains managerial responsibilities for program and works with the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation other sources to obtain funding.
