RECREATION THERAPIST

Education Required: Associate degree

Type of degree: Associates, Bachelor’s or Master’s

Area of study or major: Occupational therapy, Recreational therapy, Art therapy, Expressive therapy, or Rehabilitation

Preferred educational qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Licensure, certification, or registration in area of specialty by a recognized state or local body. 

Current healthcare provider CPR certification required. NVCI certification required within the first 90 days of hire.


Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience

Preferred experience: 1-3 years in area of expertise

Knowledge/Skills :

General knowledge of human behaviors, abnormal and developmental psychology. Must be knowledgeable regarding care of mental health patients and work collaboratively with others. Must demonstrate competency in listed major duties and responsibilities of job description.
