REG RESP THERP POLY-MVH
A Registered Respiratory Therapist / Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the Medical Director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, scoring of records, patient care and patient education. Performs all types of sleep studies, scoring as assigned.
Education:
Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree
Additional requirements:
§ Type of degree: Applied Science or its Equivalent
§ Area of study or major: Respiratory Care
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
§ Valid Ohio Respiratory Care License
§ Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care).
§ BLS certification required.
§ Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - RPSGT through BRPT (Board of Registered Polysomnography Technicians) or Registered Sleep Technologist - RST through ABSM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine.)
Experience:
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Knowledge/Skills:
§ Must have a working knowledge of all areas of treatment modalities such as CPAP, BiLevel, and other commonly used sleep strategies.
§ Demonstrated ability to educate patients.
§ Basic computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office
