Qualifications
Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree
Additional requirements:
§ Type of degree: Applied Science or the Equivalent
§ Area of study or major: Respiratory Care or Equivalent
§ Preferred educational qualifications: N/A
§ Position specific testing requirement: N/A
Licensure/Certification/Registration
§ Valid Ohio Respiratory Care License
§ Valid registered respiratory therapist credential through the NBRC.
§ Must be BLS and ACLS certified upon hire.
§ Must obtain PALS and NRP within 90 days of hire dependent on class availability
§ Preferred certification - NRP Instructor Status
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 3 - 5 years of job related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Prior specific functional responsibilities: Critical Care and Emergency Department experience
Preferred experience: Previous classroom teaching and clinical preceptor experience.
Other experience requirements: N/A
Knowledge/Skills
· Demonstrates competency in the performance of respiratory therapy skills, including those within critical care areas.
· Good organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Effective interpersonal communication skills. Develops trust of staff and colleagues.
· Good critical thinking, collaboration and team interaction skills
· Demonstrated collaboration and team leadership.
· Exceptional record keeping and presentation skills.
· Basic competencies with Microsoft Office products
