RN First Assistant (RNFA)
Full time/72 hours per pay
7:00AM-7:30PM
A clinically competent, registered professional nurse responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients based on established standards. The RN First Assistant (RNFA) collaborates with the surgeon in performing an invasive or operative procedure in a safe manner with optimal outcomes for the patient whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised. Responsible for knowledge and implementation of the mission, vision and values of Atrium Medical Center.
Education
Must be a graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing. BSN preferred. Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse form the State of Ohio. Must have current Certification in Operating Room Nursing and attended a First Assistant Program including clinical hours.
Training and/or Experience
Must possess current hospital experience (within past five years) two of those years must have been in Operating Room Nursing. CNOR certification, as well as be an FA Certification required.
Skills
Must be willing to work with acutely ill patients, including emergency situations.
Works independently as well as functioning as a team member and charge nurse as assigned. Capable of adapting to changing environment. Practice is consistent with Ohio Board of Nursing standards and regulations and the Standards, Recommended Practices and Guidelines of the Association of Operating Room Nurses.
Working Conditions
Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, odors, infections, radiation, etc.
Able to work in a very busy, stressful environment.
