CENTRAL SCHEDULING 
10:30A-7P (Mon-Thurs.) Fri 9:30a-6p 

FULL TIME / 80 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD

OFFICE LOCATED IN MORAINE

*POSSIBLE SIGN ON BONUS ELIGIBLE

This position combines duties and obligations of computerized procedure and exam scheduling, coordinating functions necessary for smooth operating of office, customer relations and computer operations, and when applicable, pre-registration of outpatient services. The Level II Central Scheduler demonstrates Composure, Customer Focus, Functional/technical Skills, Listening and Patience to achieve the best utilization of time and resources. Performs computer duties necessary to the function of Patient Financial, Surgery, and Medical Imaging Services; collecting demographic and insurance information in order to schedule basic and complex outpatient procedures and exams for Medical Imaging, Cardiopulmonary, and Interventional Radiology studies 


 

Education: High school graduate or GED required.
Certification: Medical terminology certification upon 6 months of employment
Experience: 
• Required: 1 year of experience in Contact (Call) Center, Revenue Cycle or Scheduling role:
Demonstrated customer contact/ interaction skills
Clear concise verbal communication skills
Examples of complex decision making
Customer Service experience required
Three year of scheduling experience is preferred. Unit secretary experience on surgical or medical floor acceptable; revenue cycle/ scheduling in a surgical/medical office experience

Skills/Other: 
• Polished and professional communication skills, written and oral, as well as customer resolution skills
• Must be able to handle complex questions on the fly
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook
• Minimum typing 30 wpm

DIMENSION/SCOPE
The incumbent must have a complete understanding of the revenue cycle. This includes having the ability to understand the importance of their actions and the consequences that result from those actions. This employee must be able to effectively communicate with patients, families, visitors, physicians, physician’s offices, hospital departments.
He/she performs duties that require independent analysis, judgment and detailed knowledge of policies and procedures.
This position collaborates as part of an interdisciplinary team to facilitate optimal patient care.
Incumbent must be proficient in use of computer technology including multiple medical and scheduling software and applications.
