Position Summary:
The Electro-Neuro Student Technician functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of Neurodiagnostics. Capable of performing neurodiagnostic procedures under the general supervision of Electo-Neureo I & II, or other designated qualified personnel, including both inpatient and outpatient routine & long-term electroencephalograms (EEGs) and all modalities of evoked potential procedures. The student must be knowledgeable in correct EEG, long-term monitoring (LTM), and evoked potential (EP) performance and recognition of clinically significant events and follows the facility’s policy and procedures. Exercises professional judgement in the performance of exams and communicates effectively with the neurologist and other staff members.

· Demonstrate the ability to manage Electroneurodiagnostic procedures while caring safely and effectively for self and patients.
· Demonstrate ability to provide high quality entry-level electroneurodiagnostic services (under the required supervision of clinical personnel), in patient-care environments.
· Apply effective skills in the areas of communication, critical thinking and problem-solving in the practice of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology.
Education:
Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED
Additional requirements:
§ Area of study or major: Associate Degree/Allied Health
§ Preferred educational qualifications: END associate degree or actively pursuing the END degree and/or are in good academic standing
Licensure/Certification/Registration:.
§ CPR Certification required
§ R.EEG.T board-eligible within 1 year of hire
§ R.EP.T board-eligible within 1 year of hire
Experience:
Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience

· Ability to analyze, prioritize and evaluate patient needs in an efficient and effective manner.
· Initiate, operate, troubleshoot, and reprocess END equipment
· Must be able to complete all applicable clinical and didactic yearly competencies.
· Must possess and display effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
· Possesses ability to educate patients on related disease process and purpose of procedure.
