SURG TECH(OR)-FIRST ASST-CERT

Education:     High School graduate or GED required.  Graduation from 

                        an accredited school of surgical technology (civilian

or military), Associate of Arts Degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited technical or liberal arts. Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) surgical assistant program.

Licensure:      not applicable

Certification:  Current CPR certification.  Certification as a Surgical

                        Technologist under the Liaison Council on Certification

for the Surgical Technologist by graduating from a CAAHEP and passing a national certification examination (CST) OR, certification under the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or certification under the Armed Forces (military) Program is required. Certification as a Certified First Assistant is required.
