SURGICAL ASSISTANT

Education Required: Diploma Program - Surgical Assistant program must be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA)

Additional requirements:
 Area of study or major: Surgical Assistant
 Preferred educational qualifications: Associates Degree in the field of

     Surgical Technology; Military Training; 5 or more years of experience   

     without  a degree.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current CPR (AHA BLS) is required.

Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience
Preferred experience: 2 Years as a surgical tech; 2 years as an SA

     Must be able to multitask with interruptions while maintaining a professional 

     demeanor
 Basic computer knowledge
 Strong organizational skills
 Effective interpersonal and communication skills
