ULTRASOUND TECH MULTI REG
Education
Graduate of accredited 24 month or more medical sonography program. ARDMS Certification in two or more registries.
Licensure/Certification
Must be ARDMS certified in two or more registries. CPR Certification is required for this position.
Training and/or Experience
One or more years hospital Radiology Ultrasound experience preferred.
Skills
1. Competency with Ultrasound equipment.
2. Ability to select technical factors, appropriate transducers, and operate equipment to produce a quality
diagnostic sonogram.
3. Ability to accurately position the body for imaging. Utilize techniques to physically manipulate and apply
accessories (i.e., transducers, stirrups,) to produce a desired image.
4. Knowledge of normal anatomy and common variants of non-cardiac and peripherovascular anatomy, ability
to assess technical acceptability of images.
5. Basic computer literacy and applications for data entry, record maintenance.
6. Ability to recognize life threatening conditions and implement basic life sustaining actions. BLS
certification required.
7. Application of BSI precautions.
8. If performing radiography, use of protective devices and methods, such as time/distance principles, lead
aprons, etc.
