Position: Workforce Development Spec

Department: Organizational Effectiveness 

Shift: 8:30AM-5PM

Status: Full-time/ 80 hours per pay period 

Facility: Premier System Support 

The Workforce Development Specialist is responsible for the ongoing administration of employee career development planning activities. Using knowledge of best practices in career development approaches, the Specialist will facilitate structured career development planning, conduct individual and group planning sessions, administer relevant assessments (personality, aptitude, etc.), and determine appropriate pathways for career growth within Premier Health. This role partners with Human Resources and operational leaders to understand current and emerging workforce needs and to align career development programs and approaches accordingly. Additionally, the Specialist will work closely with the Academic Partnerships team in order to connect development planning to educational opportunities. The Specialist will also provide regular analysis and reports to demonstrate the impact of career development efforts on individuals and the workforce as a whole.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required:  Bachelor's degree

Additional requirements:

Type of degree: Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, Organizational development, or related field

 

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Certification in or prior experience with personality, aptitude, or similar assessments (MBTI, DiSC, MAPP, etc.) preferred

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required:  3 - 5  years of job related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: HR Generalist, Career Specialist, Trainer, etc.

Preferred experience: Healthcare experience preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills

  • Established skills including the ability to manage stakeholder groups. 
  • Must have an understanding and be adept at long-range planning and research skills. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to think soundly and compose and comprehend correspondence.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; approachable, assertive, and supportive personal style.
  • Proven presentation skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstration of intermediate- to advanced-level computer skills, with experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and experience with audio-visual equipment (set-up, use of, etc.).
  • Familiarity with HealthStream or other learning management system software a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and schedule events and related activities.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and balance competing priorities with a strong preference for working independently.
  • Ability to collect data and prepare relevant and accurate reports (program attendance, evaluation summaries, etc.) independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to make complex decisions with minimal support.
  • Possess flexibility to deal with new opportunities as presented.
  • Possess the demonstrated qualities of conscientiousness, dependability, personal tact, integrity, comfort around higher management, and initiative.
  • Familiarity with both established and contemporary career development practices
