CYBER SECURITY ANALYST

Full-Time / 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
The Cyber Security Analyst primarily supports security, compliance and risk management initiatives and maintenance. This position participates in the planning and performs the implementing of security measures to protect endpoints, networks and data. The Cyber Security Analyst is expected to keep up-to-date on threat intelligence to anticipate security breaches and recognize attacks. The position is also tasked with preventing data loss and service interruptions by researching new technologies that will effectively protect network assets and data. Additionally, the Cyber Security Analyst is expected to recommend security enhancements and contribute to information security procedures.
Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree. Type of degree: Associate’s Degree - Information Technology related with 1-2 years of technical experience OR A Non-Related Associate’s degree with 2-3 years of technical experience
Security certifications – Comptia’s Security+ or equivalent achieved within 6 months from date in position. ISC2’s SSCP (System Security Certified Practitioner) is strongly recommended.
Knowledge/Skills
· Understanding of security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
· Familiarity of information security tools and best practices as well as regulatory and compliance requirements that impact the security of the organization, including HIPAA, HITECH, and PCI
· Understanding of Cloud Computing concepts and security frameworks.
· Understanding of any or all the following is preferred: Office 365, Amazon Web Services (AWS), PCI, HIPPA, Meaningful Use
· Understanding of risk assessments, IT Security policies, role-based authorization, authentication technologies
· Understanding of perimeter security controls – firewall, IDS/IPS, network access control and network segmentation
· Understanding of third party auditing and cloud risk assessments
· Strong learning and teamwork skills
· Ability to demonstrate and perform creative Strategic Problem Solving
· Effective oral and written communications skills.
· Must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive team member who can serve as an effective member of the Cyber Security team
· Should understand the importance of risk management, auditing, and compliance
· Preferred knowledge of EndPoint Encryption technologies
