FINANCIAL ANALYST-PPN
Summary of Position
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for accurate completion of varied accounting and financial analysis, in support of both finance and operational needs. The Analyst will have a sound understanding of general accounting principles, with the ability to ensure full understanding by peers, and all levels of leadership.
Nature & Scope
The Financial Analyst will provide leadership with pertinent findings, interpretations, and recommendations on the reports/data they are creating and/or analyzing. The Financial Analyst will require minimal direction from management and is able to think and solve problems independently. The Analyst will be goal-oriented and a proactive thinker, who challenges current processes and makes recommendations for improvement. The Financial Analyst will demonstrate astute problem-solving skills, to resolve difficult issues with effective solutions and looking beyond the obvious; not stopping at the first answer. The Analyst must independently pursue self-development, including being committed to and actively working to continuously enhance their abilities, as well as understand that different situations and levels may call for different skills and approaches. The Financial Analyst must have the ability to deal with ambiguity which includes effectively coping with change and shifting gears comfortably. The Financial Analyst must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and advanced interpersonal skills, necessary to maintain effective communication with a variety of internal and external customers. The Analyst must be quick to learn new skills and have the ability to adapt these skills to assigned projects and day to day responsibilities, to meet expected submission standards and deadlines.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
May include some or all of the following:
1. Create, analyze, and interpret financial statements, reports and other financial and non-financial data, as required, for preparing and reviewing annual budgets as well as for use in the financial and operational decision-making process.
2. Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
3. Create and calculate monthly physician compensation summaries.
4. Obtain data from third parties or system queries; provide validation, analysis and review of data for completeness and accuracy prior to completion of financial analysis
.
5. Design and develop new reports, modify current reports, and develop ad hoc reports as requested to increase productivity.
6. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, to ensure comprehension by all levels of leadership.
7. Meet the demands of a constantly changing environment, by showing exemplary teamwork and flexibility with both participation and schedule.
8. Adhere to behavioral and performance standards for Premier Physician Network.
9. Responsible for other special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance or related field, required.
• Minimum two years of Business Finance experience, preferred.
• Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions and other Office applications.
• Experience in an automated environment with a strong aptitude for computerized business
systems.
• Must demonstrate effective and efficient communication ability with varied levels of
leadership.
• Possess strong decision-making skills and demonstrate the confidence to uphold them.
