REVENUE CYCLE BUSINESS ANALYST

FULL TIME / DAY SHIFT / 80 hours per pay


The Revenue Cycle Business Analyst is responsible for providing analytical and project management support for the Supervisor Revenue Cycle Management Business Analytics, as well as the Revenue Cycle Directors.  The position will develop and maintain analytics/performance dashboards, coordinate the revenue cycle budgeting process, complete audits and workflow documentation with the intent of improving efficiency and/or reducing errors, evaluate and recommend new technologies and vendor services, develop reporting capabilities that will be used to optimize performance and serve as a liaison for accounting, IT and operations in regards to various revenue cycle initiatives.

DIMENSION/SCOPE

The PHP Revenue Cycle Business Analyst will report directly to the System Vice President, Revenue Cycle.  Through that leadership, the incumbent will be assigned a combination of ongoing responsibilities, projects, and ad-hoc analysis.  Depending on the scope and other specifics of the assignment, the Business Analyst position will in many instances be asked to lead teams, complete analysis with minimal direction and recommend opportunities for Revenue Cycle Division improvements based on observation, audit, or learnings from discussions with peers, vendors, literature and other resources.  Examples of assignments include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining Revenue Cycle dashboards and performance metrics
  • Coordination of the Revenue Cycle budget process
  • Documentation and auditing of work processes, including the recommendation of improved processes
  • Leads and or participates in Innovate type improvement initiatives
  • Completes financial analysis under the direction of the System Vice President, Revenue Cycle in order to maximize the financial benefit that can be achieved through various efficiency strategies, vendor partnerships, software enhancements, etc.
  • Assists Revenue Cycle Directors on a variety of projects and analysis related to Patient Financial Services, Scheduling and Registration, Coding and Medical Records, Financial Counseling, etc.
  • Coordinates with Managed Care and Reimbursement Departments to explore opportunities for improved processes and communicate trends related to payer issues, audit issues, etc.

 

 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Business Analytics or a Revenue Cycle relevant field. Master’s Degree or other advanced designation is a plus, but not required.

Experience:        Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in revenue cycle, finance, healthcare management, or analytics required.

  • Ability to manage projects as demonstrated by previous project experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a structured, goal-oriented team environment
  • Demonstrated technical skills and software problem-solving techniques
  • Proven report-writing and process-documentation skills
  • Strong inter-personal and organizational skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
