Education: Bachelor’s degree in an environmental science, engineering, scientific or healthcare field; Master’s preferred
Licensure: NA
Certification: Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (certified or expected to become certified within 12 months of hire)
Experience: 3 years in healthcare or safety setting for Master’s, 5 years for Bachelor’s
Skills/Other: Basic computer knowledge, excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
DIMENSION/SCOPE
Budgetary responsibility/dimension for the Hazardous Material & Safety Office. In addition to reporting to the Director of Plant Services and Engineering, he/she has a reporting relationship to the Chairperson, Environmental Safety Committee and the Chairperson, Disaster Committee. He/She interfaces with internal and external departments and agencies for safety and emergency management activities (e.g. GDAHA, regional hazmat agency, and FEMA).
